And That’s a Wrap

Yesterday I was chugging along proofreading my companion novel Core Haven when it dawned on me—I’m done.

I mean finished, as in the humble author looks up to behold the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel (in this case, a more suitable image might be a rabbit hole).

Mind you, I’m not talking done as in barely close enough for rock & roll to meet a deadline like my ill-timed slide into the Kindle Vella morass I described in a previous post. I’m talking full-on done—ebook formatted, parts & chapters polished, cover approved, dedication penned, author’s note with links completed, you name it.

Damn, that realization is just as shocking & invigorating now as it was then.

OK, so I do have a couple loose ends to take care of on the business side of things (e.g., deciding about ISBN vs ASIN, promotion services, early release timing, overall scheduling, that kind of thing). No worries in that regard, however, since I now have a bit more time for such gyrations before launching the recombined novel sometime early next year.

But when it comes to the actual writing/revising/proofreading side of the formula, I’m really done, finished, free of—

Except for maybe one more run-through just to see if any last-minute changes slipped under the radar & threw a few monkey wrenches into the works.

What can I say?

Drew

My completed serialized companion novel, Core Haven, is available now on Kindle Vella till February 2025—if you happen to have 330 KV tokens burning a hole in your digital pocket.

My first self-published novel, Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown, is currently available on the Kindle Store & Kindle Unlimited.
