Supporting Independent Authors

As you probably know, self-published writers with books on Amazon are taking a weeklong hit when it comes to sales. Whether or not you agree with the intent of the blackout, PLEASE consider supporting those authors by reading pages/books on Kindle Unlimited or other sources.

I realize some might see this as crossing the picket line, so to speak, but since Amazon already charges for monthly subscriptions on both Kindle Unlimited & Prime (Prime Reading is included), it could be argued that supporting authors in this fashion isn’t undermining the original intent of the blackout. Or if you oppose the entire call for action on philosophical or political grounds, helping authors is still as natural as lending a hand to a neighbor whose car is stuck in a snowbank or an overflowing river.

If you’d like to find indie authors writing in your preferred genres, a quick survey on most social media platforms or a search on Goodreads might prove worthwhile (LINK: Independent Authors).

Thanks for your support.

Drew

P.S. My own humble offering is also available for your consideration on KU.

My first self-published novel, Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown, is currently available on the Kindle Store & Kindle Unlimited.

Review Excerpts

My completed serialized companion novel, Core Haven, was available on Kindle Vella till Amazon pulled the plug on February 26, 2025. I’m happy to report that it enjoyed good standing in its categories (dystopian & action/adventure), as well as its subcategories (journey, survival, thriller). Rest assured, you’ll have a chance to read the new & improved edition as an ebook from the Kindle Store sometime before midsummer. I’ll keep you posted.
