About a year & a half ago, I started one of my published posts with the following:
I remember as a kid watching a juggler balance more spinning plates on sticks & his body than I ever thought possible. While most everyone else in the crowd was fixated on another, more risqué, street festival act, I couldn’t stop watching that juggler’s antics like pretending to stumble before catching a falling plate at the last second.
No doubt that memory popped up out of nowhere because I’m about to go for another round of plate juggling—as in, the final stage of prepping Core Haven, my companion novel, for its upcoming launch this July.
The last time I had to figure out which plates to drop & which to add, so to speak, was a couple years ago, so I’m cutting myself lots of slack. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’m going with a couple strategies I used with Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown, but I’m also streamlining my approach.
Keep you posted.

I invite you to check out Lee Hall’s excellent video review, especially the first book he includes on his short list of memorable indie reads—uh-huh, that would be Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown.
My first self-published novel, Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown, is currently available on the Kindle Store & Kindle Unlimited.
My completed serialized companion novel, Core Haven, will be released in July 2025. I’ll keep you posted.
