OK, I gotta admit, the last time I had an adrenaline rush even close to what I have going right now was when I was about a hundred feet from summiting Mt Jefferson. That’s why I’m posting this unscheduled blog the day before my usual newsletter goes out.
Do me a favor & take a look at the image directly above, will you? A press release like that is one thing to see; but now look at the image below (same press release, by the way—but notice the header).
Now click on the image below or HERE & see that I’m not making this up.

Yeah, AP News. I know it’s not on the front page or anything, but something I wrote being mentioned on AP News? Now imagine multiplying that outlet by 200—fact, not fiction.
What in the world is happening here?
In all honesty, this is the result of my lucking into a free press release from the amazing folks at BrightKey PR.
But now I’m faced with the all important question—what the hell do I do next when it comes to promoting my newest release?
If anybody reading this has any suggestions to offer, I’m wide open. Just email me at drew.m.faraday@gmail.com.
The BrightKey PR staff provided me with some great guidelines, but at this very moment, I still feel like I’m in over my head.
Of course, there’s a good chance that feeling will vanish the second I hit Publish, right?
Till next time.
Drew
P.S. If by chance you’re interested in reading and thoughtfully reviewing either of my two companion novels, please see the Amazon links below. (And thanks so much in advance!)

I invite you to check out Lee Hall’s excellent video review, especially the first book he includes on his short list of memorable indie reads—uh-huh, that would be Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown.
My first self-published novel, Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown, is currently available on the Kindle Store & Kindle Unlimited.

My completed companion novel, Core Haven, was released on July 31st, 2025. Available now.
